For this first round of the Powering the Regions Fund &#8211; Safeguard Transformation Stream up to $300 million is available over 4 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of this grant opportunity are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>support trade-exposed facilities covered by the Safeguard Mechanism to reduce their emissions and contribute to meeting Australia\u2019s 2030 (and 2050) emissions reduction targets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reduce the risk of carbon leakage, which occurs when a business responds to emissions reduction policies by moving emissions-intensive production to a country with less stringent policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>provide skills development to existing industrial workforce in new equipment or processes that contribute to the reduction of scope 1 emissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The intended outcome of this grant opportunity is a reduction of emissions at trade-exposed Safeguard facilities consistent with their obligations under the&nbsp;Safeguard Mechanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-is-this-for\">Who is this for?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Owners or operators of a trade-exposed Safeguard Mechanism facility that is not a new or expanded coal or gas production facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-funding-amount\">Funding Amount:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A grant amount of $500,000 to $50,000,000 to cover up to 50% of eligible project expenditure<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can apply if you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>are an eligible entity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have an eligible project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have eligible expenditure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligible Entity requirements, you can apply if you:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>are an owner or operator of a trade-exposed safeguard mechanism facility that is not a new or expanded gas or coal facility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have an Australian business number (ABN)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>and are one of the following entities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>an entity incorporated in Australia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>company limited by guarantee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>incorporated association<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can\u2019t apply if you are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the owner of a trade-exposed Safeguard facility that is also a new or expanded coal or gas facility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an organisation, or your project partner is an organisation, included on the National Redress Scheme\u2019s list of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalredress.gov.au\/institutions\/institutions-have-not-yet-joined\">Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an employer of 100 or more employees that has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wgea.gov.au\/what-we-do\/compliance-reporting\/non-compliant-list\">not complied<\/a>&nbsp;with the Workplace Gender Equality Act (2012).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Partner with other organisations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can partner with one or more other organisations that also meet the eligibility criteria. But you must decide who the lead organisation is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lead organisation must fill out the application form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we give your group the grant, the lead organisation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>signs the grant agreement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>is responsible for making sure your group follows the rules in the grant agreement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligible Project requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must complete your project within 4 years of the date of execution of the grant agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum project period is 48 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your project must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be aimed at contributing to Australia\u2019s emissions reduction targets by 2030 and of net zero by 2050<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have at least $1,000,000 in eligible expenditure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your project must be delivered in one of the following locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>on-site at any eligible facility, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>shared infrastructure, with practical connection to an eligible facility and the grantee, located in Regional Australia (defined as any area outside a Greater Capital City but including Kwinana)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligible Expenditure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can apply for a grant between $500,000 and $50,000,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use this grant funding for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>newly purchased or pre-existing plant and equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>hired\/leased plant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>constructed plant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>labour expenditure and on-costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>contract expenditure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>staff training that directly supports the achievement of project outcomes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>decommissioning old equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible, expenditure must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be incurred by you within the project period<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be a direct cost of the project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be incurred by you to undertake required project audit activities (where applicable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>meet the eligible expenditure guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":27750,"template":"","grant-status":[227],"grant-location":[230],"state":[],"grant-type":[263],"class_list":["post-27749","grants","type-grants","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","grant-status-open","grant-location-australia","grant-type-grants-and-program"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v21.3 (Yoast SEO v25.5) -
