Switching from gas to electricity is a big move – but the right funding can make it easier. At Northmore Gordon, we identify funding opportunities, navigate the application process, and help businesses unlock financial support to fast-track their energy transition.

Ready to make the switch?

One of the key programs we recently assisted clients with was the Large Energy User (LEU) Electrification Support Program, a Victorian Government initiative designed to help large energy users reduce their reliance on fossil fuels by transitioning to electricity. The program funded feasibility studies to identify ways for businesses to cut emissions, lower energy costs, and increase energy efficiency through electrification.

The results speak for themselves:

  • 40% of all successful facilities were Northmore Gordon clients
  • Over $600,000 in funding was secured for our clients
  • Sectors represented: Agriculture, Chemicals, Food & Beverage, Animal Processing, and Manufacturing
  • Investigated technologies include hot water & steam heat pumps, electric & electrode boilers, thermal electric storage, and grid connection constraints, among others.

Funding programs are a vital support for businesses undertaking electrification projects, with additional grants available for:

  • Solar installations to reduce reliance on fossil fuels
  • Upgrading refrigeration, boilers, and hot water systems to energy-efficient alternatives
  • Electrification of industrial processes to cut costs and emissions
  • Battery storage solutions to enhance energy reliability

Beyond funding for feasibility studies, businesses that participated in the LEU Program can use the information gained from the studies as a foundation to undertake Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) project-based activities and access additional VEU incentives, for eligible projects. These incentives provide further financial support for businesses investing in energy-efficient upgrades, maximising the return on electrification investments.

At Northmore Gordon, we’re not just about securing funding, we’re also experts in environmental certificates, including Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs), which offer additional savings on energy efficiency projects, and we have an experienced team who can help clients manage the implementation of projects through to completion.

Looking ahead, we’re working closely with clients to build on key learnings from the LEU Program and continue their electrification journey. New funding opportunities are always emerging, and we’re committed to helping businesses secure financial support for their next project. Click to view our grants here.

If you’re considering an electrification project, don’t miss out. Talk to Northmore Gordon today – we’ll help you find the right opportunities and maximise your chances of success.

Rising energy costs are putting pressure on businesses, but there’s good news – government grants and rebates can help fund energy efficiency upgrades, reducing costs and improving sustainability. With millions in funding available, are you taking advantage?

Applying can feel complex, but we’ve broken it down into simple steps to maximise your success.

Why your business should apply

Energy grants don’t just cut upfront costs – they deliver long-term benefits, including:

  • Lower energy bills & operating costs
  • Increased profitability & cash flow
  • Improved sustainability & reduced carbon footprint
  • Compliance with energy efficiency regulations
  • Competitive advantage & enhanced brand reputation

Latest Grants you should know about

How can grants & rebates be used

  • Government funding can help cover:
  • Solar panels & battery storage
  • Energy-efficient lighting & HVAC upgrades
  • Smart energy management systems
  • Industrial process improvements
  • Electrification & fuel switching
  • Energy audits & feasibility studies

Your step-by-step guide to applying

1. Find the right grants
Federal and state programs like ARENA, CEFC, and tax rebates offer funding for energy efficiency projects. Visit government sites or consult experts (like Northmore Gordon) to identify the best opportunities.

2. Check your eligibility
Each grant has specific criteria – business type, location, and project scope. Make sure you qualify before applying.

3. Get your documents ready
Most applications require:

  • Business registration proof
  • Financial statements
  • Energy audit reports
  • Details of your proposed upgrades

Having these on hand speeds up the process.

4. Build a strong case
A well-structured energy efficiency plan, outlining costs, savings, and sustainability benefits, increases your chances of success.

5. Apply with precision
Double-check all details before submitting. Errors or missing info could mean losing out on funding.

6. Follow up
After submitting, confirm receipt and stay engaged with the grant provider for updates.
